Role – Account manager

£28,000 to £38,000 depending on experience

Full-time, hybrid and flexible working hours

We are looking for an account manager with a proven ability to look after clients’ interests and communications activities. This role would be perfect for someone who has a keen interest in emerging technology, geopolitics, defence, aviation and the military.


  • Daily point of contact with key media contacts
  • Developing industry, sector and product-focused PR campaigns
  • Managing the needs of our clients and their accounts
  • Contributing to daily meetings, and liaising and updating clients on PR activities
  • Keeping abreast of current PR trends and tools
  • Building client relationships and maintaining a network of media contacts including journalists and industry spokespeople
  • Spearheading both traditional PR and wider communications projects
  • Developing news angles, stories and pitches to further the client’s profile, products and services.
  • Fulfilling the client’s key performance indicators and growing accounts
  • Being involved in pitching for new business and developing PR proposals
  • Managing a high level of client interaction
  • Managing and mentoring junior members of staff
  • We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience in pitching and selling-in to national, international and top-tier business outlets
  • Great client handling skills, a real service focus and the ability to work well in a team
  • The ability to remain organised, even when it gets busy
  • Experience in managing projects
  • Serious creative talent and an appetite for trying new things
  • Ability to take a brief and work under your own initiative
  • Ability and motivation to get to grips with technical and scientific information quickly and easily.
  • An undergraduate degree (or equivalent)
  • Willing to undergo security clearances


  • Agency experience
  • Undergraduate degree in a scientific or technical subject
  • Experience in working with complex technology (B2B / B2C) such as advanced computing, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, autonomy, robotics, directed energy, hypersonics or biotechnology
  • Understanding of the threat environment (not just cyber)
  • Geopolitical interest/awareness
  • Experience in the defence and security industry
  • PR or Communications qualifications
