Authorised Telecoms Officer(ATO)
About the role:
You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of telecommunications systems in support of Defence operations and business.
You will act as the primary point of contact for communications, ensuring the integrity, security, and availability of all communication networks.
As the ATO, you will also be responsible for coordinating with units and internal engineering teams, providing technical guidance, and ensuring compliance with military and regulatory standards.
This role is suited for an experienced telecom professional with a deep understanding of defense communication requirements, security protocols, and maritime operations.
Must have
- The formal ATO qualification or being able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
- Have held the role of ATO or DATO in the UK Armed Forces or Civil Service.
- 3 years of experience in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and managed telecommunications projects in support of Royal Navy business and operations.
- Act as the principal authority for naval telecommunications systems, ensuring the operational readiness and security of all communications.
- Coordinate with naval units, project managers, and engineering teams to plan and execute communication network deployments.
