Job Title: Desktop Support Technician

The Role
We are seeking a highly motivatedDesktop Support Technicianwho is ready to make an immediate impact. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing1st and 2nd line IT supportto all customers, ensuring the highest levels of customer service are maintained. Working in line withITIL principles, you will ensure that all IT policies and procedures are adhered to while proactively identifying and evaluating emerging trends to meet current and future business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all issues encountered, corrective steps undertaken, and resolutions found.
- Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshooting to identify and resolve customer issues.
- Build and configure laptops, mobile phones, and iPads, including decommissioning and reprovisioning devices.
- Undertake repairs on all IT equipment and process leavers on systems, ensuring hardware is prepared for reuse.
- Manage and triage issues efficiently to provide a high-quality service.
- Take ownership of customer issues and ensure they are resolved to completion.
- Maintain service levels in line with the enterpriseService Level Agreement (SLA).
- Understand customer requirements to identify, evaluate, test, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Procure, install, configure, distribute, and maintain customer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
- Maintain the asset database to ensure costs are controlled and items are fully accounted for.
- Identify and report potential security risks to the Service Desk Manager.
- Provide support via phone, chat, or email to capture, record, and resolve technical problems.
- Stay up to date with developments in the IT industry by attending educational programs, workshops, and seminars.
- Contribute to strategic IT projects as identified by the Service Desk Manager.
Experience, Qualifications & Training
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 3-5 yearsof experience in a customer-facing IT support role, ideally in a technology-related field.
- Imaging and build skills for laptops and mobile phones.
- Strong customer focus with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A methodical approach to problem-solving and diagnosing issues promptly.
- A hands-on, flexible, and proactive approach with a willingness to learn.
- The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and use your own initiative.
- A good working knowledge ofMS Windows(workplace-specific),Windows Server,MS Exchange, andActive Directory (Users and Computers).
- Experience supporting wireless technologies and mobile device/application management across Microsoft, Apple, and Android platforms.
- ITIL Foundation Certification(desirable).
- Experience withAirwatch Mobile Device Management(desirable).
- A full driving license and access to your own transport.
